In her interview with Chelsey Sanchez, Turlington Burns quickly turned the discussion to Every Mother Counts [IG], a nonprofit dedicated to improving maternity care for women around the globe. AOC has written about Christy’s maternal health activism since her founding of EMC in 2010.

The most noteworthy — and deeply sad fact, unfortunately — is the increasing activism of Every Mother Counts connected to the alarming increases in maternal health deaths in America.

The Camargue Calls to Mona Tougaard, Lensed by Tyler Mitchell for i-D No.372

The Camargue Calls to Mona Tougaard, Lensed by Tyler Mitchell for i-D No.372

Anne of Carversville lives very close to the ancient symbolism of much of the artistic imagery featured here, and how stereotypes of women have evolved over the last 12,000 years.

Photographed by Tyler Mitchell and styled by Carlos Nazario, top model Mona Tougaard was captured in the surreal landscape of Salin d'Aigues-Mortes, in the Camargue, for the summer 2023 issue of i-D magazine.

My response to Irina’s “wet and wild” fashion story, shot in Joshua Tree, California was connected to 1] her walking nearly naked in a recent Cannes event where everyone else appearing in photos was wearing clothes. As a publicity stunt, I can’t even remember the jewelry brand she was wearing; and 2] specifically in Joshua Tree, Danielle Midenge shot Winnie Harlow recently with a vibe that is more akin to this one with Mona Tougaard and Tyler Mitchell in the south of France. I loved Daniella’s Winnie images and revere the ancient history of Joshua Tree.

i-D acknowledges that Demeulemeester and her former new designer don’t seem to live at all in the same territory on the fashion spectrum. It’s a very convoluted explanation by Ludovic of why he was perfect to interpret Ann’s vision. Note: I also am very impressed by Robert Mapplethorpe. I still don’t get the shared synergy.

An Alluring Gigi Hadid Covers 'M Le magazine du Monde' by Karim Sadli

An Alluring Gigi Hadid Covers 'M Le magazine du Monde' by Karim Sadli

Supermodel Gigi Hadid covers the March 3, 2023 issue of M Le magazine du Monde, as her ‘Next in Fashion - Season 2’ Netflix series trends in the Top 5. Hadid has joined Tan France as the co-host in the show. Gigi made the announcement last night on IG to her 77 million followers.

M Le magazine notes that Gigi, her sister Bella, Kylie Jenner [who books 277 milion followers] and Hailey Bieber are far more than models. Their omnipresence explains their attractiveness to luxury houses, making them ambassadors with notoriety equaling — if not exceeding — that of successful actresses or singers.

We learn Gigi’s complete name of Jelena Noura Hadid and the desire of French photographer Karim Sadid [IG] and stylist Carlos Nazario to present her in the fashion story with minimum artifice. AOC adds also her sensuality, as Gigi Hadid rolls out the most alluring images we’ve seen of her in years.

2023 Gucci Cruise 'Cosmogonie' Campaign Ode to Philosophy Bridging Space & Time

2023 Gucci Cruise 'Cosmogonie' Campaign Ode to Philosophy Bridging Space & Time

AOC had not viewed the 2023 Gucci Cruise Collection Cosmogonie video. Transported emotionally and psychologically by the recent Dior Cruise 2023 show, I am even more impacted by the 2023 Gucci Cruise presentation.

Never has AOC connected so deeply with Gucci’s now-departed creative director Alessandro Michele.

Michele was inspired by the work of Walter Benjamin, a 20th-century, German-Jewish philosopher, cultural critic and essayist.

Benjamin deserves his own AOC post in this moment of the daily drumbeat of hate against progressive thinkers from Donald Trump, Kanye West and many others.

Vittoria Ceretti Calls on World to 'Protect Venice' in Oliver Hadlee Pearch Fashion Story

Vittoria Ceretti Calls on World to 'Protect Venice' in Oliver Hadlee Pearch Fashion Story AOC Fashion

Top model Vittoria Ceretti is styled by Carlos Nazario in BAN IT24T0306902117100000018767, lensed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch for the February 2020 issue of Vogue Italia./ Hair by Cyndia Harvey; makeup by Nami Yoshida

Ceretti, currently Italy’s most photographed model, holds a stone sign saying ‘Protect Venice’. She invites people to donate to an international bank account number provided by Venice's city council to gather funds for the high tide emergency. That’s really the old-fashioned way.

For the record, it is : IBAN: IT24T0306902117100000018767. BIC BCITITMM.

“We decided to dedicate the most important element of a magazine, its cover, to the launch of an international appeal. Vogue Italia is, in fact, the most widely distributed Italian magazine outside Italy and is part of a global network comprising 26 different editions. We trust that many readers, not only Italian, will contribute, given that Venice is a universal heritage site,” said Vogue Italia's editor-in-chief Emanuele Farneti in a release.

“This month we are supporting the Council’s appeal ‘Keep Venice in Your Heart’ because we believe it is right that the international focus should not only be on the much needed safeguarding of the city’s artistic heritage, but also on the citizens themselves who suffered substantial damage to their homes and businesses,” added Farneti.

Venice Carnival Cancelled

In another terrible blow to Venice, a decision to call off the Venice Carnival attended by thousands of visitors was announced by Veneto regional Gov. Luca Zaia on Sunday. The numbers of confirmed coronavirus infections soared to 152, the largest number outside Asia. Buses, trains and other forms of public transport - including boats in Venice - were being disinfected, Zaia told reporters.

“Road blocks were set up in at least some of 10 towns in Lombardy at the epicenter of the outbreak, including in Casalpusterlengo, to keep people from leaving or arriving. Even trains transiting the area weren’t allowed to stop,” writes PBS.
