Presidential candidate, billionaire businessman and philanthropist, and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has launched a campaign of unprecedented ad spending. Making an argument that many consider to be self-serving but does resonate with AOC, Bloomberg argues that the clock is ticking and Democrats have left Trump virtually unchecked in key states that will determine the 2020 presidential election.

We are more familiar than most with the Bloomberg campaign, having followed the former mayor’s efforts in gun safety and against America’s anti-climate change practices for years. We are also in touch with the Bloomberg campaign hierarchy.

This ad is designed to confront the Trump unchallenged issue head-on by ordinary citizens across America. Our own response was a very positive one, and today’s New York Times also gives quality coverage to the dangers Democrats face in not taking a Trump 2020 win seriously enough.

“All this effort and all this money and none of it goes to help the one election that really matters?” asks a man from Michigan in one new Bloomberg campaign ad, referring to the spending in the Democratic primary. The campaign plans to run the ad online in Super Tuesday primary states.

“I’ve been telling anyone who will listen, Trump is winning,” said Kevin Sheekey, the campaign manager for Mr. Bloomberg, who earlier this month sat down with Jonathan Capehart at The Washington Post.
