Daria Werbowy Plunges Into Gucci's Marina Chain Campaign Lensed by David Sims

Canadian-Ukrainian fashion model goddess Daria Werbowy has been sorely missed since she left fashion modeling in 2016.

Some say that Daria was living in Ireland. Others said she was sailing around the world — as sailing has always been her passion.

Daria is set to return to fashion world — on her terms and ONLY on her terms. Phoebe Philo’s eponymous new label, due to launch in September, delivers a long-anticipated re-pairing of artist and muse.

To date, most of the excitement has been focused on Daria and Phoebe, who seemed to coexist as a ‘universal one’. They share a remarkably similar physical appearance and attitudes about the purpose of fashion.

Werbowy worked with photographer Juergen Teller to embody the elegant minimalism that made ‘old Céline’ — with Philo at the helm as creative director — so adored.

Philo did ‘quiet luxury’ at Céline long before it became a 2023 buzzword.

Gucci is not making a comeback but rather a change in direction when the new creative director Sabato de Sarno takes the stage in Milan this Friday, September 22.

Apparently, Daria is also part of the Gucci relaunch. In the new images, the model and muse is seen in the chunky gold Gucci Marina Chain jewelry, magnifying an archival motif inspired by the maritime world.

It’s expected that Daria Werbowy will be the face of a larger campaign, beyond this jewelry release photographed in Los Angeles at Chateau Marmont by David Sims [IG], with styling by Alastair McKimm.
