In the three-year period from 2016-2018, fashion and leather goods moved from being 34% to 39% of LVMH Group worldwide sales, with shrinking sectors of ‘selective retailing and other activities’ and ‘wine and spirits’, writes Statista.

The Louis Vuitton brand is a key driver in that handbag and leathergoods realignment of LVMH revenues, making it a perfect moment for its ‘New Classics’ campaign, featuring three coveted pieces — the Capucines, the Twist and the Dauphine’.

Louis Vuitton taps three of its brand ambassadors Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander and Lèa Seydoux for the campaign. Captured by Craig McDean, the new campaign sets the ‘New Classics’ against the backdrop of a blank background – almost acting as a canvas for the female personalities.

Craig McDean Captures Emma Stone For Louis Vuitton Spirit Of Travel Campaign 2018

I'm not sure if actor, activist and new Louis Vuitton muse Emma Stone's first Spirit of Travel Campaign 2018 is the most anemic campaign ever, but it's a tough rival for the honor. Set in the California desert, we see "a spectacular landscape that blends raw space and travel". Okay, if you say so.

"I am very happy and proud to be working with a House as passionate as Louis Vuitton, as well as with the unique style and creations of Nicolas Ghesquière” says Emma Stone.

Stone's first Louis Vuitton Spirit of Travel campaign "showcases the actress wearing pieces from the Prefall 2018 collection and embodying a heroine who is daring, confident and always on the move. " Okay, if you say so.

This Travel campaign highlights the Capucines bags: a signature of discreet elegance, Capucines represents the spirit of the House and its expertise in leather craftwork. Note that this out-of-gas campaign is not the fault of Emma Stone. Rather, photographer Craig McDean and Nicolas Ghesquière bear responsibility and also upper management at LVMH, who I assume saw it.  As for poor Emma Stone, she is frozen in time.
