Today: Julianne Moore in ‘May December’

Julianne Moore plays Gracie in the Todd Haynes-directed film ‘May December’ about a long-married, but once-notorious Savannah, Georgia couple. Gracie, then 36, seduced her husband Joe Yoo, then age 13 and a schoolmate of her son Georgie. Their sexual union resulted in Gracie giving birth in prison.

Tomorrow: Julianne Moore in ‘Mary & George’

2024 sees Moore as the “ruthless bisexual countess Mary Villiers, who rose through snarls of conflicting interests in the English court by engineering her son’s affair with King James I.”

“I’m not an adventure-tales person,” Moore tells AnOther. “I don’t care if they get on a boat and sail across the ocean. I want stories about relationships and families. Human drama.”

Ana de Armas in Exquisite Images by Craig McDean for AnOther Magazine FW 2022

Ana de Armas in Exquisite Images by Craig McDean for AnOther Magazine FW 2022

British photographer, New York-based Craig McDean [IG] has outdone himself with new images of actor Ana de Armas for AnOther Magazine [IG]. Katie Shillingford styled de Armas in Louis Vuitton for the cover and inside fashion story, adding sensual but casual luxury looks inside.

In an interview with Hannah Lack, How Ana de Armas Became the Most Famous Woman in the World, de Armas discusses playing Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s much anticipated adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’s ‘Blonde’, arriving on Netflix Sept. 28.

The Jezebel review is more vulgar and ‘flip’ than most, but its train of thought is consistent with several others that I just read. I’ll go with the New Yorker review [next paragraph] , because it runs closest to Lack’s interview, which is well worth the read.

Julianne Moore Plays Grace Coddington, Shot by Craig McDean in Document Journal

Hollywood Reporter wrote in September 2016 that Grace Coddington listed the actors who should play her in ‘Grace’, a movie about her life optioned in 2015 by independent production company A24. “In my head, I’d like it to be focused on the early years, so it’s not the me you know, it’s more in the 1970s. It has to be someone quite young, and maybe we haven’t found them yet, because first we have to write the movie, and the movie is a very long winded thing to do, you know. I’ve been talking about it for three, four years now. I love all the young British people like Saoirse [Ronan] and Kiera Knightley and Carey Mulligan, she’s in there,” she added. “I would like it to be a British person and an English director would be great, because I’d like to keep an English sense.

Craig McDean Flashes Kris, Marjan, Sora in 'On the Line' for Zara Beauty

Zara is making a big splash in the beauty business, working with British makeup artist Diane Kendal. Currently living in New York City, Kendal is the beauty product consultant and makeup artist for Marc Jacobs Beauty, and has developed product lines for Calvin Klein Cosmetics. She is also favored by Poenza Schouler, Tory Burch and Tom Ford.

Zara Beauty launched globally last Wednesday with its own beauty-specific in-store presentation. According to Zara beauty director Eva Lopez, the goal for the brand was simple: inclusivity. “Our ambition was to create a collection that anyone, regardless of gender, skin color, age, or personal style will want to use,” she says. “Somebody that wants a classic, softer makeup look can find their products, and somebody that’s more experimental can find the colors they need to create that, too,” continues Kendal, adding “we wanted to appeal to everybody.”
