Charlize Theron Launches J’Adore Absolu Lady Squad Sensual Goddesses Campaign

The dazzling Charlize Theron continues in her relationship with Dior Parfums as the face of J’Adore Absolu fragrance. In an interview so long and spilling over with candid observations that we will publish it tomorrow in AOC Women In-Depth, Charlize Theron manages to turn a discussion with Harper’s Bazaar UK about her new J’adore Absolu campaign into an extended conversation about diversity and femininity on-screen. Stay tuned.

The film was directed by Romain Gavras, and is a true tribute to the beauty and community of women. Over the song “Flashing Lights” by Kanye West, the new-look lady squad shows off their proud prowess.

The new Dior J'adore L’absolu campaign, where Theron is seen bathing in a pool of gold, reminds us of the famous 1999 campaign featuring the supermodel Carmen Kass. This time, though, the sensual-yet-powerful character Theron portrays is not alone, as she was in the 2011 campaign below — Anne’s favorite. Theron is surrounded by a diverse array of women who share an ethereal quality. The scene is inspired by the painting ‘The Turkish Bath’ by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. Both the campaign and artwork integrate the eroticism of the naked female form into the relaxed sensual communion that women share apart from the male gaze.

Charlize Theron Is Lensed By Zoey Grossman For ELLE US 'Women In Hollywood' November 2018 Issue

Charlize Theron is one of the cover stars of ELLE US’s annual ‘Women in Hollywood’ issue. Leslie Fremar styles Theron in looks from Chloe, Louis Vuitton and more for images shot by Zoey Grossman.

In her interview ‘Charlize Theron Wants To Bring Important Narratives To The Big Screen’ , we learn that Theron founded Denver and Delilah Productions (named for the 43-year-old actress’s dogs), in part to champion messy, complicated women.

Theron enjoys playing those roles as an actor, although it’s doubtful that Megyn Kelly — who Theron plays in an upcoming biopic biopic of the former Fox News host now at NBC — considers herself to be a messy, complicated woman. The Kelly character is part of a movie on Fox News founder Roger Ailes, produced by Annapurna Pictures.

Here’s the back story before news in the last 24 hrs.

Charlize Theron Fights Fierce As 'Atomic Blonde' By Alasdair McLellan For W Magazine August 2017

n July's action thriller 'Atomic Blonde', Charlize Theron is undercover M16 agent Lorraine Broughton. Agent Broughton is sent to Berlin in 1989, five days before the fall of the Wall. "Theron wears her exciting mix of icy beauty, alluring mystery, in-your-face sexuality, and fierce, fearless, fighting skills, " writes the August issue of W Magazine.

“I didn’t just want to play a girly spy who depends on her flirty ways,” Theron said at the W August issue photo shoot, for which Edward Enninful and photographer Alasdair McLellan channeled the late-1980s, gritty punk-meets-glam mood of the film.

At Austin's SXSW Female Heroines Kick Ass Back: Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron

As Austin's SXSW festival comes to a close, a new kind of hero took center stage, writes Joanna Robinson for Vanity Fair. "the battle-tested and badly bruised action heroine."

In a year when throngs of women are still reeling from Clinton's presidential election loss and the ascendancy of a narcissistic, Twitter-crazy megalomaniac to the White House, our commitment to resistance is bolstered by kickass heroines who get knocked down and rise up again. They include Anne Hathaway in 'Colossal'; Brie Larson in 'Free Fire'; Charlize Theron in 'Atomic Blonde'.

There’s been a resistance growing—even among those who clamor for more female-fronted stories in film and television—against the catch-all phrase “strong female character.” Those three little words are often thrown up in defense of characters who are two-dimensional at best. If she can punch like the guys (or, as is often the case, better than the guys), then she must be strong, right? But actual progress is not about women being superior to their male counterparts; it’s about them being treated equally. And when most action films starring women are precious about their leading ladies, seeing the real consequence of violence on a female body is both shocking and refreshing. The heroines of SXSW offerings Free Fire, Atomic Blonde, and Colossal, just like generations of male heroes before them, grit their teeth through swollen faces, split lips, and bullet wounds to keep fighting their way out.

Love Stories | Leonard Lauder & Judy Glickman | Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg | Charlize Theron & Sean Penn

Leonard Lauder & Judy Glickman: A Marvelously Grounded, Old-Fashioned Love Story

Leonard Lauder and Judy GlickmanThey are not star-crossed teenagers, writes the New York Times. The man was for more than 50 years, one half of one of New York’s most prominent couples. Leonard Lauder’s wife Evelyn died in 2011 at age 75 of ovarian cancer and after 52 years of marriage. Judy Glickman was married to shopping center developer Albert Glickman. An accomplished photographer with work in major museums, Glickman is the mother of four children and was married for 54 years when her husband died.

The two couples knew each other well for over 30 years, primarily within the context of their homes in Aspen. The two men skiied together while the women sometimes played tennis. When Mr. Glickman died two years ago at 79. Mr. Lauder spoke at his funeral.

The love story weaves in both friends and family — children plotting to bring the two friends together in a romantic laison and most notably Bonnie Laurenberg, the widow of former Democratic senator from New Jersey Frank Lautenberg. The recently widowed Lautenberg told Mr. Lauder: ‘Leonard, you know there is nothing nicer than going out with an old friend, and I think Judy Glickman is the girl for you.’

Bonnie Lautenberg struck again in January 2014 when Mr. Lauder made his move, asking Mrs. Glickman to join him in Palm Beach for a weekend. Glickman declined but had the common sense to share the details with Lautenberg.

‘You said what?’ Mrs. Lautenberg replied. ‘Call him back!’

‘So I did,’ the new Mrs. Lauder said.

With much of their families in attendance, Mr. and Mrs. Lauder were married on New Year’s Day, by the water in Sarasota, Fla. The ceremony was officiated by two of Mrs. Lauder’s three sons and one of her daughters-in-law, all rabbis.

To commemorate their love story, Mr. Lauder had T-shirts made. The words printed on them read: “You said what? Call him back!”

Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg: A Moving Tribute To Tragedy

Sheryl Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook, posted a deeply personal and moving tribute to her husband David Goldberg, who died in a tragic gym accident last week in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Goldberg, 47, CEO of Survey Monkey, slipped while exercising on a treadmill in the villa’s gym and struck his head.

Goldberg is celebrated as the rare Silicon Valley executive who truly supported women in careers, and especially those who were also wives and mothers. Sandberg posted the tribute to her husband on her Facebook page.

Dave and I did not get nearly enough time together. But as heartbroken as I am today, I am equally grateful. Even in these last few days of completely unexpected hell – the darkest and saddest moments of my life – I know how lucky I have been. If the day I walked down that aisle with Dave someone had told me that this would happen – that he would be taken from us all in just 11 years – I would still have walked down that aisle. Because 11 years of being Dave Goldberg’s wife, and 10 years of being a parent with him is perhaps more luck and more happiness than I could have ever imagined. I am grateful for every minute we had.

As we put the love of my life to rest today, we buried only his body. His spirit, his soul, his amazing ability to give is still with it. It lives on in the stories people are sharing of how he touched their lives, in the love that is visible in the eyes of our family and friends, in the spirit and resilience of our children. Things will never be the same – but the world is better for the years my beloved husband lived.
