The focus of Chloe Sevigny’s interview is her role in ‘The Dead Don’t Die’, a Cannes May 14 opening film. with co-stars Bill Murray and Adam Driver. The trio play three cops investigating small-town slaughter in “the political and ecological zombie film”. The Jim Marmusch comedy will be in contention for the top prize Palme d’Or and will open in France also on Tuesday. The film premiers elsewhere in June.
Sevigny has another entry in Cannes, a 15-minute film entitled ‘White Echo’ that will compete for the short film Palme d’Or that Cannes jury president Claire Denis will award the prize on May 25, the closing day of the festival.
In breaking Monday morning news, The Hollywood Reporter announces that Chloe Sevigny will return as a featured director in Shatterbox’s third season. Both the third and fourth seasons of the female-directed short film series are supported by a Refinery 20 partnershp with Level Forward.
Launched in 2016, Shatterbox has acted as an incubator female directing talent, featuring projects from directors including Kristen Stewart, Courtney Hoffman and Anu Valia.
