Elle Macpherson Honored by Harper's Bazaar Spain for WelleCo Beauty Business

Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson has one of the most beautiful, contagious smiles on the planet. At 59, Macpherson’s inner beauty and joyful serenity is as gorgeous as her physicality.

The founder of WelleCo, dedicated to plant-based beauty, is honored in the December 2023 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain [IG] as the winner of the magazine’s annual Beauty Entrepreneur award. Hers is one of multiple recognitions by category each Harper’s Bazaar country edition chooses annually.

Macpherson is long recognized for her holistic approach to healthy living, priorities that drive all of her decisions for WelleCo. These values were reflected in the businesswoman’s expressions of thank you to Harper’s Bazaar Spain.

“The business of beauty is a reflection of the uniqueness, vitality, and innovation inherent in all women. We are the ultimate creators, best able to bloom when we are feeling and looking well. Enabling that flourishing for so many women around the world is the work of my lifetime. Thank you to Inmaculada and Harper’s Bazaar Spain for this recognition. Dedicated to my team at WelleCo.”

The supermodel didn’t bring her business, founded in 2014, to America until 2018, when she opened a store in New York at the corner of Crosby and Broome Streets.

CEO Leighton Richards told The CEO Magazine in June, 2023 that WelleCo is in a period of great expansion. The company experienced over 200 percent growth in Australia and 400 percent in the US. In the second quarter of 2023, WelleCo boosted its new customers by over 1,000 percent.

MacPherson always ranks in the top 10 supermodels, who have parlayed their wealth on and off the catwalk. Recently — but before the growth statistics just quoted in 2023 — her fortune was valued at $90 million, when she appeared in Harper’s Bazaar Australia, also lensed by Darren Macdonald.

As to her personal life, the mother of two sons with ex-partner, French financier Arpad Busson, is enjoying life with Texas-born musician Doyle Bramhall II. They’ve known each other as friends for some time, but became romantically involved in early 2023. The model remains on excellent terms with her prior husband, photographer Gilles Bensimon.
