Gal Gadot, Hollywood's reigning action heroine, is set to command the attention of action-film movie audiences with her upcoming movie 'Heart of Stone', opening on Netflix USA Aug. 11.

The Wonder Woman star covers the July 2023 issue of Vogue Hong Kong, styled by Karla Welch in a sculptured femme-fatale black gown and gloves from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello.

Known for her fierce performances, Gadot's choice to star in, as well as co-produce, this highly-anticipated film has generated significant buzz due to its expert team.

Directed by renowned filmmaker Reed Morano, the mastermind behind acclaimed series like 'The Handmaid's Tale', 'Heart of Stone' promises to deliver a gripping and adrenaline-fueled cinematic experience.

With a script penned by the talented Greg Rucka, known for his work on spy-action comic book series 'Queen & Country', 'Heart of Stone' has all the ingredients necessary for a thrilling and suspenseful ride.

The combination of Gadot's star power, Morano's knack for intense storytelling, and Rucka's expertise in crafting high-stakes narratives creates a potent box office knock-out punch.

Gadot's involvement as a co-producer speaks to her commitment to empowering female talent in the entertainment industry. 'Heart of Stone' demonstrates her determination to bring stories to the forefront that depict powerful women as a strong leading force, not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well.

Empowered by ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Cancellation

It was in December 2022, that Gal Gadot learned that ‘Wonder Woman 3’ had been cancelled by James Gunn and Peter Safran, newly-installed heads of the DC Extended Universe [DCEU].

Note that in 2024, the DCEU will be succeeded by the DC Universe. If you care about this word salad, the Hollywood Reporter breaks it down — with plenty of remaining questions and confusion on their side.

As anticipation builds for 'Heart of Stone', fans can't help but wonder if Gadot's new movie has the potential to inspire a new generation of young women, reminding them of their extraordinary strength and resilience.

The cancellation of ‘Wonder Woman 3’ last winter followed the summer 2022 US SC Dobbs decision that took a major sledge hammer to women’s rights and body automomy in America.

Meanwhile, one handpicked yahoo judge in Texas, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s, believes that he knows better than the US government FDA [Federal Drug Authority] in approving birth control drugs for women.

We await the appellate court decision, but whatever the result, the approval of mifepristone is headed to America’s right-wing, Opus-Dei controlled Supreme Court.

Gadot insists that while she was deeply sad over the cancellation, she was also empowered by it. To the extent that women must take charge of our own futures collectively, we must support Gadpt’s position.

This is a difficult strategy — but a NECESSARY one —when we have a US Supreme Court working against women’s rights — and many other hard-won rights as well that include race-related affirmative action laws and gay-rights laws.

As an American citizen, I am not at all clear which people-related rights, post 1970 USSC decisions our right-wing Supreme Court actually supports today.

Like Donald Trump, six of the justices seem to be determined to “make America great again.”

A voting rights law was actually saved this term, so the word on every progressive’s lips is VOTE.

It’s no time for the feint-hearted in America, as the right-wing agenda is clear. Hence, my clarion call for our young people and especially our young women to pull themselves together, stop weeping for being misunderstood on social media and in the public press and learn to fight like Gal Gadot.

To be clear, women’s rights are also being rolled back in the megawatt star’s home country of Israel.

“I think most of the public who are out protesting don’t even know about this issue, but it’s hugely problematic for women,” said the Israeli lawyer Tamar Ben Dror of the group Itach Ma’aki – Women Lawyers for Social Justice, referring to a subset of changes within the Israeli government’s judicial overhaul package that would massively expand the power of state-run religious courts.

The Guardian recently addressed this ongoing erosion of women’s rights in Israel, a reality set to explode with all the changes in Israel’s court system. We all know what happens to women’s rights when state-run religious courts take over. The US Supreme Court is now in the hands of Opus Dei, the arch-conservative Catholic community every bit as right-wing as the proposed Israel court system.

We need fearless women like Gal Gadot inspiring us. Gabot has been highly critical of the Netanyahu government for years. And just to be factual, the rights of Palestinian women, have also been under assault in addition to the epic problems resulting from the world’s failure to create a Palestinian state.

Even with a Palestinian state, however, I would not assume a positive road ahead for women’s rights, which are under attack worldwide.

In reality, the determination to turn back hard-won women’s rights binds the right-wing, men-rule governments worldwide whether they are Christian, Jewish or Muslim. AOC hasn’t checked on Buddhists and Hindus lately, but we should assume the worst. ~ Anne
