Salt Textile Studios is the home studio of Kayla Powers. Kayla is a weaver and natural dyer living and working in Detroit, Michigan. Her work is focused on local, natural color derived from plants - foraged from and cultivated in - the city.  Preservation of the traditional crafts of weaving and dyeing are at the heart of Kayla’s work. She is inspired by the limitations of a seasonal palette and the utilitarian nature of woven cloth.
