Mattel Launches Farrah Fawcett Barbie for Cancer Research

It’s good to know that every girl needs a slimdown, when she’s becoming Barbie. Mattel has launched a Farrah Barbie honoring the Charlie Angel’s star, with all proceeds doing to the Farrah Fawcett Fooundation, launched in late June 2010, on the first anniversary of Fawcett’s death from her long battle with anal cancer.

The Farrah Fawcett Foundation is focused on funding alternative cancer research. Alana Stewart, close friends with Fawcett  for 30 years, is president of the foundation. They should be thanked for their generosity.

I admit to just not getting it, when the focus is Barbie dolls and growing numbers of young girls terrified of getting curves. Read our recent post on anorexia increasing among girls.
