Nicole Kidman Covers New Tatler UK In Hollywood Glam Lensed By Victor Demarchelier

Film star and activist Nicole Kidman covers the July 2018 issue of the 'new and improved Tatler UK. Lensed by Victor Demarchelier, Kidman is styled in drop dead glamour from Chanel Haute Couture, Armani Prive, Elie Saab Haute Couture and more.

Tatler's new editor-in-chief Richard Dennen has expressed a clear and consistent vision for the magazine. In a new interview with WWD, Dennen says the monthly glossy should be "impossibly chic" with mega glamour, and  "a nod to the past and a modern, more international outlook at what high society looks like today."

“What’s really exciting in the 21st century is to have these old heritage brands and to be able to update them into something which is very modern and cool — and one of the cool things about Tatler is that it’s so old and has this incredible heritage of culture, politics, high society and fashion,” said Dennen in an interview at his minimalist, all-white office at Vogue House. It’s decorated with a poster of one of his favorite Tatler covers from the past, shot by Norman Parkinson.

Fronting the magazine born in 1709 and is the oldest enduring title in the world, Kidman herself makes a strong case for the appeal of old Hollywood glamour, even if her roles represent the summit of women's issues and concerns worldwide. Read Kidman's interview with Elizabeth Day.

A Defiant Emmy Awards Show Finds Backbone For Women From Handmaids To Victims Of Domestic Abuse

A Defiant Emmy Awards Show Finds Backbone For Women From Handmaids To Victims Of Domestic Abuse

No more listening to talking heads make their Emmy Awards predictions. Boy did those guys screw up . . . and they were mostly guys, if I think about it. Perhaps they got it wrong, because as Joanna Robinson writes for Vanity Fair: "the Emmys raised a surprising middle finger to the patriarchy."

On the same Sunday that America's asshat president was Tweeting a meme of him driving a golf ball into Hillary Clinton, knocking her down as she boarded a plane, it was revenge of The Handmaid's Tale in LA on Sunday evening. Yes, 'Big Little Lies' was expected to take home some statues, but no one predicted that the evening would become a fierce of women's rights under total threat by the Trump administration.

The night was anti-Trump and the Saturday Night Live wins were not as pro-women as anti-Trump, even if Kate McKinnondid wear a white pantsuit and thank Hillary Clinton.

Leave it to Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton to go off-script, bringing the sassy tone of their '9 to 5' movie to the stage in Los Angeles.  “Back in 1980, in that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot,” Fonda said. “In 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, hypocritical, lying, egotistical bigot,” Tomlin chimed in to massive cheers from a liberal audience totally Trumped out. The night's first standing ovation for feminism was in the house.

Then came the night's big surprise, and it wasn't big wins for 'This Is Us', the predictable family drama.

Nicole Kidman is styled by Julia von Boehm, captured by Will Davidson for the July 2017 issue of InStyle US magazine.

Kidman turns 50 next month. To use a trite phrase, the Aussie superstar remains young at heart, approaching her career as if she were a young, unknown actress.

“I am at that point of my life where I am trying to act as though I am 21 and starting my career,” Kidman said in Cannes. “In terms of pushing the boundaries, I want to support people who are trying different things. I have worked a lot. I don’t have to work. I work because it is still my passion.”

Telling InStyle how long it takes to come down from performance, the actor touches on her pursuit of authenticity:

Honolulu-born Nicole Kidman had a dual mission in her Vogue Australia photo shoot, posing for photographer Will Davidson at the iconomic Australian landmark Uluru, marking 30 years since the Australian Government returned Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to it original owners, the Anangu people.

Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said she hoped that Nicole’s editorial would encourage tourists to visit the Northern Territory and national park. “People always ask me where they should go in Australia: now I’m going to say Uluru.” She added, “I’m enraptured by it. I’ve always been drawn to the landscape, and I do think there’s something … the energy and the light … it’s just a very, very magical, special place.”

Many Australians consider Uluru to be the spiritual heart of Australia.
