Eva Herzigova | Mario Sorrenti | 'Le Diable Au Corps' | Vogue Paris May 2003

This 2003 editorial appears at Voyons Voir this morning, featuring Eva Herzigova lensed by Mario Sorrenti for Vogue Paris, May 2003.

Titled ‘Le Diable Au Corps’, it’s a superb example how a title and one visual can transform a fashion editorial not vastly different from the Spring 2011 Calvin Klein campaign, posted on Sensuality News yesterday, into a political statement about female bodies and the devil, and culture’s obsession with whether women are good or evil.

There’s a lot of international, visual communication about women’s bodies going on in cyberspace and AOC is in the thick of it. Anyone who thinks these images are only about the Internet’s love of “hot bods” is wrong.

As Reagan said to Gorbachev: “tear down this wall”, once and for all. Anne
