Senior Writer Charlie Gowans-Eglinton stops by the Stella shoot to chat with Tony, noting that “modeliing years are like dog years, and her CV reads like that of a woman who’s been working in the fashion industry for decades.”

We learn that Toni was part of a quartet of “my best friends in fashion” that includes Ali Stephens, Karlie Kloss and Taryn Davidson. Francisco Costa, then Calvin Klein’s creative director, called them “the CK Four”.

In 2016, the top model with a warm, unassuming personality like Karlie Kloss’ founded the Toni Garrn Foundation, which raises money for girls’ education in Africa. Today Toni is taking on acting roles, including in this summer’s ‘Spider-Man’: Far From Home. “I just want to do interesting characters. I don’t want to play the pretty girl next door because I do that every day on set.”

Today Toni Garrn is at home in Berlin and New York, with acting stints in LA. With a father who worked for a big oil company, she’s moved “a million times” and is happy being a vagabond. Not that she’s opposed to “a house with a big kitchen and closet and one or two kids and a couple of dogs.”

Toni Garrn’s fourth Supermodel Flea Market launched at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 11 in partnership with Paddle8.
