Kanye West ‘Phoenix Rising’

Selita Ebanks | Kanye West | ‘Runaway’ Full Video Embedded AOC News Musings

It’s a year ago that Phoenix Rising Selita Ebanks fell to earth in Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’ video. The plot sees a comet hit Kanye’s Lamborghini, with a beautiful injured phoenix, played by Selita, emerging from the wreckage. The most dominant theme in arty fashion editorial last year was woman as goddess, who comes to save mankind from himself. That theme has continued in 2011.

Selita Ebanks helped Kanye West address the confusion in American morality through a lens of status, materialism, individual self interest and sensual ambivalence. This was a film certain to stir up Conservatives and the Tea Party crowd.

A perfect example of these zealots in action is our new story today on complaints made against BCABPP Breast Cancer Survivor’s Art Project on Facebook. Inspiring images like the Phoenix woman to the left were banned.

There’s no doubt that Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’ speaks to the Smart Sensuality values of Anne of Carversville in this stunning, reflective message about gender relations for ‘sexy people with heart’.

AXE Angels Banned

My AXE Angels Are Feminists, Not the Root of All American Evils AOC Sensual Rebel

We are busy bringing together my personal column — renamed Sensual Rebel — with our former feminist writing channel Sexual Politics.

Coming to grips with the reality that AOC friends who have hopefully read essays like Controlling Women’s Bodies Is A Fight to the Finish and The Republican War on Women Gives Me Nightmares, think I am not a feminist, it’s time to take action.

Now one of my favorite ads has been banned in an entire country because one Christian man found it offensive. Just ONE. The Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa ruled:

The problem is not so much that angels are used in the commercial, but rather that the angels are seen to forfeit, or perhaps forego their heavenly status for mortal desires… This is something that would likely offend Christians in the same manner as it offended the complainant.

BCABPP Breast Cancer Survivors Clash with Facebook Censors AOC Body

We hate learning about great projects at the expense of women who have suffered enough in life, won their battle with the big-C cancer, only to take on a new deadly opponent. This was the exact sequence of events that brought us to the Facebook page of the Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project over the weekend.

Breast cancer survivors from all around America have been driving and flying into Fort Lauderdale to participate in BCABPP, often a self-described emotional, psychological and transcental journey to self love.

Saying that these fantastic body-painting images violated Facebook nudity rules, the images came down. Like the Phoenix — the AOC symbol of women rising — our goal is to get the images reinstated.
