Adeam X Carolyn Murphy June-July NYC Pop-Up Collection in Harper's Bazaar Japan

Adeam, founded by creative director Hanako Maeda, will open a five-story, Madison Avenue New York City pop-up on June 15. On the first floor, shoppers will find the new Adeam X Carolyn Murphy a collaboration founded on a shared appreciation of Japanese culture and sustainability.

Born in Tokyo, but raised in New York, Maeda’s ‘East meets West’ aesthetic combines traditional Japanese techniques on modern silhouettes. Sustainability is core to the new collection. Coming from Carolyn Murphy, we expect this harmonic with nature approach to fashion, and she delivers.

The June 2022 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Japan shares images of the new Adeam X Carolyn Murphy collaboration styled by Sean Knight. Photographer Sofia Malamute [IG] captures the supermodel in key fabrications including recycled sheer cupro, biomass cotton linen, organic cotton denim, eco-jersey, recycled cotton cashmere as well as Oeko-Tex rayon which uses a process to reduce carbon dioxide and water pollution by half.

Vintage denim hugs Murphy’s yoga-fit body with a penchant for warm baths as a way to revitalize. “I was so excited when Hanako asked me about collaborating with her on a collection,” said Murphy. “It seems fitting since I have a history and love for Japan, and loved the Naomi Osaka collaboration from fall 2020,” quoted WWD.

Adeam’s store on 770 Madison Avenue will pop-open on June 15 and close at the end of July. Later in June, selected works from photographer Sophie Elgort, curated exclusively for the Madison Avenue space, .
