Louis Vuitton Fall 2021 Dauphine Bag Campaign by Steven Meisel with Liya and Rebecca

French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, leading the pack as the most valuable luxury brand on almost every summer 2021 index, releases new imagery for its ‘Dauphine’ handbag. Models Liya Kebede and Rebecca Leigh Longendyke front the campaign styled by Marie-Amelie Sauvé.

Designed by Louis Vuitton Artistic Director of Women’s Collections Nicolas Ghesquière, the Dauphine’s sleek design is defined by a combination of Monogram and Monogram Reverse canvas, referencing seasonal design variations emphasizing the Maison’s ability to adapt its heritage to modern lifestyles.

Sales were up 40 percent on an organic basis at LVMH FLG [fashion and leather goods] in the three quarters ending June 30, 2021, compared to 2019 [no COVID].

Vuitton alone is expected to account for more than half of LVMH’s total profits in 2021. LVMH is happy with their business in China but stresses the fact that this major growth is not disproportionately driven by Chinese consumers. The US market is also very strong and Europe — while somewhat spottier — is also strong.
