In her editor-in-chief letter Ekaterina Mukhina reflects on the COVID-19 pandemic and spending almost two months time with her close friend in Crimea. Her mother “Valentina Kuzminichna (and for friends just Valyusha) brews tea, famous all over the region, which she collects and dries with her own hands, and knows by sight every ground beetle and blade of grass within a radius of one hundred kilometers.”

Speaking about new inquiries around the values of “female happiness”, Mukhina touches on the resurgence of a connection to country gardening and cooking. On a related note, The Hollywood Reporter noted this week the emergence of beekeeping in Los Angeles, because “It’s the Most Calming Experience.”

Returning to fashion, Ekaterina Mukhina focuses on Casta’s role as the main character in the Jacquemus show staged “over the precipice in the rye” with slightly wrinkled fabrics of natural shades in the suburbs of Paris.

Last season, the main character of his show was Laetitia Casta, so perfect in her natural beauty that it was from her that the symbol of France "Marianne" was sculpted from her and a variety of roses was named after her. "Floral" metaphors are everywhere in modern fashion. The fringes on the skirts are reminiscent of young vines, and the ubiquitous shades of gray are wormwood. As the beauty editors joke, during the preparation of the materials, they even bred a new plant variety - Awesome Dandelion, saying, how the effect of natural ingredients is enhanced in modern care cosmetics. A friendly company of Moscow and Parisian florists inspired most editors to acquire ficus, Fittonia or pretty ecosystems at work. The September ELLE is just about this - about our connection with nature and about summer, which, as usual, was not enough for everyone.

Jacquemus is joined by Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Massimo Dutti, Y/Project, jewelry from Tiffany & Co and more in the pages of this fashion story for ELLE Russia’s September issue. In each image by Studio L'Étiquette, we see the fragility and beauty of the human condition and our ravaged earth revealed.

Sharing our Tiffany & Co archives, we remind readers that the brand has an outstanding record of progress in implementing sustainable practices in the production of his jewelry and transparency with customers.
