Actor Natalie Portman covers the July 10th issue of London’s Sunday Times Style. Currently starring in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ with Chris Hemsworth, Portman wears Dior on the cover.

Portman tells The Times that prep for her current role as astrophysicist Jane Foster in the Marvel film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ left her feeling excited about being told to exercise rigorously, build muscle and drink protein shakes. And don’t forget the strength training.

Portman contrasts her current Marvel role with her preparation for ‘Black Swan’ [2010] in which she played a ballet dancer and won the Oscar for Best Actress.

"Most of the body transformations we're asked to make are to be as small as possible and there's an emotional and sociological correlate to that."

To prepare for the ‘Black Swan’ role, Portman said at the time that she literally “starved” herself of food, to the point where some nights, she “literally thought I would die.”

Portman also trained up to 8 hours per day, increasing her body’s need for nourishment.

In 2018 Portman declined to accept the 2018 Genesis Prize in person in Jerusalem, in what is regarded as one of the highest awards that can be given to an Israeli citizen.

Portman’s refusal to take the stage with then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caused cancellation of the public event. Currently, the Israeli government is again in crisis and new elections are coming. Like Trump, Netanyahu is determined to get his old job back. Stay tuned.
