Shanina Shaik Wears Earth Goddess Style for Anthropologie Late Summer 2021 AOC Fashion

AOC is surprised that Anthropologie doesn’t even have a statement on sustainability on their website. We always search a new post for news in the last 30 days. In this case, PETA was staging a major protest at the Kansas City Anthropologie on July 12.

PETA is demanding that Anthropologie and all other Urban Outfitters, Inc brands — including Free People—”leave alpaca fleece, wool, leather, mohair, cashmere, and down to their original owners.”

The photos in Google Images were grave and not fair to post with the July 2021 Anthropologie look book. Call us kind. But we will dig further and write a separate article on Anthropologie and sustainability.

As PETA fairly points out, they have corporate skills to lean on here. AOC will look at the Anthropologie websites in Germany, France and UK. If they have sustainability collections in Europe but not the US . . . well, that would not be amusing, would it.

“Anthropologie stores are graveyards for animals who were beaten up, cut up, and killed,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is calling on Urban Outfitters’ brands to honor the company’s consumer pledge of sustainability and ethics by selling only vegan materials—which would be easy to do, because they already stock them.”
