With all the talk about celebrity fashion sightings replacing models, it’s worth remembering that it was Gianni Versace, who founded the luxury house in 1978, who had a big passion for grandiose spectacles with marketing campaigns to match.

Gianni Versace didn’t care if people found him vulgar because his women were bold glamazons. It was the Versace label that sent Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell down the catwalk to the sounds of the George Michel song ‘Freedom’ that rallied spirits worldwide.

Gianna Versace loved women in all our variations, including trans women. There was never an ounce of doubt about the Versace family — except that we were women.

Donatella Versace herself couldn’t be a stronger voice for women.

AOC takes note of models shouting in these new Versace ad campaign images. Perhaps we can save the word ‘woman’ being eliminated from America’s English language after all.

AOC does not agree that being concerned about ‘women’ reflects a mind of bigotry — and uber-lefties should stop throwing that b-word around like it’s a can of beer. ~ Anne
