The Spring Mood

The Spring 2022 trends all speak to optimism, lightness and a renewed energy of seduction and sensuality. We don’t mean renewed post-COVID energy — although we are all hoping for that reality.

Fashion took a nosedive away from seduction and human sexuality that’s almost a decade long in AOC’s playbook. It’s as if in a world of #MeToo, gender fluidity, and George Floyd — the flame of seduction died. Not any longer.

While the devastating events in Ukraine deplete talk of optimism this weekend, our spirits do ache for optimism and sensual expression — whatever gender hat (if any) we’re wearing at the moment.

Gabriela Hearst explored gender freedom in her Fall 2022 collection, crediting her 14-year-old daughters with helping her to look at gender as a cultural imposition on all humans.
