Tilda Swinton| Liberated But Not In An MFM

Directly exposed to several unique living arrangements in Europe, I was unfazed over the suggestion that Tilda Swinton lived in a MFM with her husband playwright John Byrne and her much younger lover Sandro Kopp.

For whatever reasons — masculine pride, the reaction of his own lover, or refusing to lie to the press— John Byrne recently decided to dispell the notion that he’s minding the couple’s two children while Swinton is cavorting around the world with her lover.

The fact is that John Byrne isn’t living in Britain’s most high-profile ménage à trois.

Jeanine Davies and John ByrneFor the past three years Byrne has been in a relationship with Jeanine Davies, a stage lighting designer. His lover relationship with Swinton ran its course in 2005.

Byrne lived in a beach cottage near by and last December moved in with Davies at a house across the street from Swinton and Kopp. The couple two children shuttle around and about, and the entire arrangement, according to all parties, is strictly tidy.

I find it amazing the the MFM story made its way into mainstream press, far beyond the tabloids. Apparently, no one did any fact checking or picked up the telephone. Score one for bad journalism. Anne
