Rianne Ten Haken | Vincent Peters | GQ Italy Oct 2009

Note: topless images
Vincent Peters teams up again with Rianne Ten Haken for GQ Italy, Oct 2009. The two worked together on the commercial art film for Phillips Aurea screen, by Wong Kar-wai.
The print ads that accompanied the campaign, shot by Vincent Peters, show Dutch model Rianne Ten Haken, cozying up to a brightly lit Aurea screen, which mirrors her image.
The message: “Simplicity is a light that seduces the soul.” It’s true that Vincent Peters doesn’t shoot edgy, but beautiful. In our pornified world, his tendency — if not refusal — to get dirty, trashy Terry Richardson style, is refreshing.

Is this open for debate ? "Peters doesn’t shoot edgy, but beautiful " I love his work and could probably debate he meaning of "edgy" for many many pages. I suppose whether you think his images are edgy or not, his work has a huge influence over mine.
Brad, I think you just want me to look at your photography. LOL. To be fair to me, I wrote this comment, comparing Peters -- who I adore, no secret about that in these pages -- to Richardson. At the time, Terry had Sisley girls sniffing coke out of vials in the new ad campaign and the fashion world -- and especially young photographers squealed -- "Oh Terry, you are such a baaaad-ass boy." That's edgy to me.
I am also a tremendous fan of Pierre Dal Corso who can be totally edgy, absolutely the provocateur and a lover of women at the same time. That's an artistic gift -- man or woman behind the lens!
The Richardson pornified view of women will have to evolve in order for him to remain relevant in the future.
I'm pleased Peters has influence over your work. Vincent has sensuality burned in his soul. Anne
