Moschino's 'Material Girl(s)' Rock Throwaway Garbage In F/W 2017 Collection

Designer Jeremy Scott made high fashion out of the world's consumption-driven, throwaway culture, showcasing his Fall/Winter 2017 Moschino collection Thursday evening. His models -- led by Bella Hadid -- paved our way into the future wearing bike wheels, candle holders, shower curtains -- and yes, a trash bag accessorizing with fashion's new must-have garbage can lid hat.

Scott's 'Material Girls' were resourceful beyond our wildest imaginations. Bella's dress was made entirely of found watches and sister Gigi's dress was constructed from a carpet. In Scott's own words, his 'Material Girl(s)' "is the antidote to the unsustainable cycles of cycles of consumption. Her cure? To take materials the rest of us reject and wear them with Moschino panache."

Kendall Jenner rocked the cardboard runway with a matching cardboard box on her head. The look was part of a capsule collection of head-to-toe cardboard-inspired looks detailed with tape and printed 'fragile' and 'handle with care'.

As Scott's own t-shirt reminded fashionistas worldwide, "Couture is an attitude, not a price point." As Vogue described Scott's subversive Moschino collection: "Call it haute upcycling."
