Naomi, Cindy, Helena, Eva & Yasmin | Jonas Akerlund | Harper's Bazaar UK December 2011

In what is one of the best creative productions of 2011 and beyond, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova and Yasmin Le Bon roll from their double-d dom, video release ‘Girl Panic’ celebrating Duran Duran into the pages of Harper’s Bazaar UK’s December issue. Styled by Vanessa Coyle, the supers are snapped by Jonas Akerlund.

The video at 1000 dpi is on our new front page. It should be required viewing for all today’s young fashion pets who don’t know what it was like to come of age in an era when woman rocked the fashion world.

It’s a core premise of Anne of Carvesville that these woman — plus Turlington, Schiffer, Evangelista and more (forgive me but I’m just hitting the French Roast) were so strong and powerful as sources of inspiration that a shakedown was required in the fashion industry.

Consciously or unconsciously, women were downsized, demuscled and shown who’s boss. Life for women has never been the same in fashion, since the real supermodels rocked women’s psyches and fierce was more than a scowl, a look of refusal to smile on camera. Anne

(Note, there has to be a name page for Eva. We’ve searched high and low, but for now that page seems to be missing in cyberspace.)
