Jean Paul Gaultier Loves His Ancient Muses | Kendall Jenner Channels Venus

British Vogue reports that Kendall Jenner has added a new piece of vintage Jean Paul Gaultier to her vast collection. The prize fashion acquisition is an archival Venus De Milo halter neck dress from the spring/summer 1999 collection, sourced through Opulent Addict.

Note Kendall’s naturally-elongated hands in the image below. The commentariat accused Kendall of a photoshop fail in a series of getaway images that have her using her right hand for support.

What does it say about the life purposes of people who spend their time looking for photoshop fails in the Kardashian women! Actually, it gets worse with rumors that Kendall is dating Bad Bunny.

Celebrity IG account Deux Moi wrote: "This single, famous model sister was seen playing tonsil hockey with Bad Bunny at a private L.A. club last night."

The commentariat is devastated that a Kardashian — any Kardashian — has cast yet another spell on a man of color.

At Home in Paris with ‘Venus de Milo’

The ‘Venus de Milo’ statue now lives armless at the Louvre in Paris, on display permanently after being discovered on the island of Milos, Greece in 1820. Scholars believe that the statue was created during the Helenistic period, sometime between 150 and 125 BC by Alexandros of Antioch.

‘Venus de Milo’ is larger than life, at 6’8” tall before being placed on a pedestal.

Blueblood or Not?

In 2003 The Smithsonian Magazine shared an in-depth investigation of the full story about the ‘Venus de Milo’ statue, once she was ‘adopted’ by the French.

The sculptor of ‘Venus de Milo’ became the focus of much debate in France and perhaps a strong dose of subterfuge to enhance her prestigious origins beyond the facts.

In the 21st century, we progressives are most focused on artwork looted from the African continent. In fact, war has historically involved the looting of treasures and also the identity of the conquered cultures become ‘owned’ by the victorious.

How the ‘Venus de Milo’ filled a void at the Louvre Museum is the story investigated by The Smithsonian.

‘Venus de Milo’ flourished under the adulation of the French and she traveled worldwide as a representative of French culture.

In 1964, when France sent the statue on loan to Japan, more than 100,000 people came to greet her ship’s arrival. The innovative Japanese installed a moving sidewalk that transported one and a half million people, past the statue’s display.
