COVID-19 | Pyer Moss by Kerby Jean-Raymond Donating $50,000 to Minority & Women-Owned Businesses

One of New York’s most relevant, talented and soulful creatives Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond announced last week that his New York office is now a donation center for masks and other medical supplies needed for fighting New York’s epic challenge from COVID-19. In addition, Jean-Raymond will be donating $50,000 to small businesses owned by minorities and women who are impacted by the near total shutdown of the American economy.

Since launching in 2013, the Flatbush, Brooklyn-raised son of Haitian immigrants, Jean-Raymond has used his business platform and brand identity for political activism and social justice. His rise and personal narrative have become a more universal story of being a black designer in America . Jean-Raymond and Pyer Moss are championed by Erykah Badu, Michelle Obama, Rihanna and Usher — to note four high-profile supporters referenced in a March 2020 New York Times feature on him ‘The Designer Changing How We Think About Fashion and Race in America.’
