Paul Kooiker Shares Soaring Inspo Images for Dust Magazine Spring/Summer 2022 AOC Fashion

Photographer Paul Kooiker [IG] delivers a platinum grade fashion story featuring model Lola Nicon. We avoid double-up images like the plague on AOC, but only a fool would try to split this layout. WOW! Kooiker’s Instagram is equally inspiring.

Kooiker shoots one of four covers for the Spring/Summer 2022 issue of Dust Magazine with styling by Anders Solvsten Thomsen. Dust’s IG links are broken. You can learn more about the Dust Magazine project here.

Charlotte Wales Captures Lola, Malika, Mika in 'Nouvelle Vague' for Vogue France AOC France

Model Lola Nicon makes it abundantly clear that Malika Louback and Mika Schneider are along for the ride in ‘Nouvelle Vague’, Vogue France’s disoriented, disjointed February 2022 cover. Emiie Karech styles the trio for images by Charlotte Wales [IG].

AOC tries not to be too critical on creatives, but Vogue France is a mess. This is amateur hour for a magazine with a great history that ended in 2011. Good goddess!

In this sad cover concoction, just make the title ‘Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets!’ [that’s a song]. But I’ll say this. You want to upstage the very talented Malika Louback and Mika Schneider, who shine in the actual story and the industry at large, you all better know what you are doing. Because you failed here, and this is French Vogue — or it was once long ago Vogue Paris.

No wonder the luxury brands increasingly want to control their own media. When they want a magazine feature, they can just send it over in a finished state to Vogue France and pay the price for publication. It will be fabulous. ~ Anne

Inez and Vinoodh Shoot Chanel Cruise 2022 Campaign Inspired by Cocteau and Provence

Inez and Vinoodh Shoot Chanel Cruise 2022 Campaign Inspired by Cocteau and Provence

Chanel Creative Director, Virginie Viard was inspired by the simplicity of the 1959 film ‘Testament of Orpheus’, made by Gabrielle [Coco] Chanel’s close friend Jean Cocteau. In her own words:

The simplicity, the precision and the poetry of Cocteau’s film made me want to create a very clean collection, with a very distinct two-tone, made up of bright white and deep black. Echoing the extreme modernity of Cocteau’s film, I wanted something quite rock. Lots of fringes, in leather, beads and sequins, t-shirts bearing the face of the model Lola Nicon like a rock star, worn with tweed suits trimmed with wide braids, and pointed silver Mary-Janes. A look that recalls as much the modernity of the sixties as that of punk Virginie Viard

Collier Schorr Shoots Emma Stone, Zhong Chuxi in Louis Vuitton SS 2020 Campaign

Photographer Collier Schorr shoots the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2020 campaign at London’s Park Lane Hotel. LV ambassadors Emma Stone and Chinese actor Zhong Chuxi are center stage, flanked by a larger cast of models.

LV’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquièré says that the backdrop of shooting the campaign at the Park Lane enhances the decadence and exuberance that characterized the Belle Époque, a key inspiration for the spring collection. The Belle Époque period (or Beautiful Age in English) is a name given in France to the period from roughly the end of the Franco-Prussian War (1871) to the start of World War I (1914). Take a quick look at 10 fascinating facts about the Belle Époque.
