HTSI Magazine Celebrates Nicolas Ghesquière and 10 Years at Louis Vuitton AOC Fashion

As Louis Vuitton artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière [IG] celebrates his 10-year anniversary with the brand, as well as the renewal of his contract for another five years, HTSI Magazine [IG] launches a huge celebration around the designer, the label and the muses.

Ethan James Green photographed Ghesquière himself for a HTSI [Financial Times How to Spend It] interview with the designer ‘First, we have fun’: Nicolas Ghesquière on a decade at Louis Vuitton.

Bibi Cornejo Borthwick with WeFolk [IG] agency photographs the 10 models, talents and ambassadors for these remaining images, styled by Isabelle Kountoure.

Models and talents expand on HTSI’s IG comments quoted on AOC in a separate online article. They appear in chronological order of their first project with Nicolas Ghesquire for Louis Vuitton.

One exception is the lead off with actor Jennifer Connelly, who first met the designer at Balenciaga.

The Power of 10: Jennifer Connelly

Actor and friend Jennifer Connelly has known Nicolas Ghesquire since 2002. The artistic director was then at Balenciaga, and he created a custom gown for her Oscar-winning performance in ‘A Beautiful Mind’.

“I really appreciated his vision and his confidence as a designer,” says Connelly.

The Power of 10: Rianne Van Rompaey

Dutch model Rianne Van Rompaey’s first appearance on any luxury brand runway was closing Nicolas Ghesquiere’s debut Louis Vuitton show in 2014.

“It’s quite emotional for me because his 10-year anniversary is also my 10-year anniversary in the industry,” Van Rompaey told HTSI.

The Power of 10: Mona Tougaard

Mona Tougaard is a global citizen at heart, blessed with Danish, Ethiopian, Somali and Turkish heritage. Tougaard first walked Louis Vuitton for AW19 and is now a regular.

“He just makes you feel comfortable,” Tougaard says about Nicolas Ghesquiere. Mona wears a coat from the Louis Vuitton archives, adding “It’s always like working with family.”
