Naomi Osaka Louis Vuitton Twist Ads and New Media Venture Continues

While Naomi may continue to struggle on the tennis court, being currently ranke No. 41 in the world, her business interests are escalating quickly. Osaka has started a media company called Hana Kuma, in partnership with SpringHill, LeBron James’ entertainment, marketing and products company.

Hana Kuma stands for “flower bear” in Japanese and will include scripted and unscripted television series, documentaries, anime and branded content.

“I honestly can’t say if I’ll personally be in anything right now,” Ms. Osaka said. “What excites me is being able to inspire people and tell new stories, particularly ones that I would have wanted to see when I was a kid. I always wanted to kind of see someone like me.”

Osaka has ben cautioned to change the name Hana Kuma , which means “Woman without a vagina” in Swahili. An estimated 200 million people speak Swahili, the majority in East Africa. Let’s just say that Naomi was not amused at the criticism, but she thanked the “over-thinkers”.
