German's Brigette Magazine Bans Models for 2010

for BRIGITTE magazine with Suse Schandelmaier/unfabrikThe German women’s magazine Brigitte will ban models from its pages, beginning next year. Instead, Brigette will feature a mix of prominent women and regular readers in photo spreads crossing all categories, including beauty, fashion and fitness.

Instead, editor Andreas Lebert says: “We will show women who have an identity - the 18-year-old student, the head of the board, the musician, the football player.” 

Brigitte has suffered a steady drop in circulation over the past 20 years but, with more than 719,000 copies sold per issue, it remains Germany’s most-read women’s magazine. via Telegraph UK
