Led By NFL Players, Americans 'Take A Knee' Against Trump's Racist White Nationalism

Once again America's racist, misogynist president Donald Trump has shown his true colors, causing more than a dozen -- 17 accounted for -- NFL players to 'take a knee' during America's anthem at today's NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The same players stood for the playing of the British anthem.

The teams' owners also went on the record, with $1 million Trump donor Shad Khan, owner of the Jaguars,  linking arms with his players. “We recognize our players’ influence.” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, another $1 million Trump donorsaid in a statement on Sunday. “We respect their demonstration and support them 100 percent. All voices need to be heard. That’s democracy in its highest form.”

New York Magazine writes that not only will many more NFL players 'take a knee' today, but the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team have already announced that they will remain in their locker room, until the anthem is finished.

The great Lebron James called Trump a bum Saturday, after America's white nationalist president used Twitter to withdraw a standing invitation to Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors' invitation to visit the White House.

It was a clown-car moment for Trump, because Curry already said he wasn't coming. Looking at 'likes' and 'shares', Trump lost the LeBron James matchup hands down.

Curry, who notoriously avoids public controversy, explained in this summary from The Washington Post his intention not to go to the White House and that he was not speaking for his teammates. Today, Sunday, his entire Oakland-based Golden State Warriors team issued a decline. Curry said on Friday:

“That we don’t stand for basically what our president … the things that he said and the things that he hasn’t said in the right terms that we won’t stand for it. And by acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to."

“It’s not just the act of not going. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion. You can talk about all the different personalities that have said things and done things, from [Colin] Kaepernick to what happened to [Michael] Bennett to all sorts of examples of what has gone on in our country that we need to kind of change. And we all are trying to do what we can, using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light on that."

“ … I don’t think us not going to White House is going to miraculously make everything better … [but] this is my opportunity to voice that.”

Trump took the stage in Alabama Friday night, letting loose a foul-mouthed tirade that indirectly called NFL player without a home Colin Kaepernick a "son of a bitch". Kaepernick, then a 2017 quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers,  launched the 'take a knee' moment in its current form as a protest against police brutality against black men.

While "son of a bitch" or SOB is a common vulgarity of an extreme nature in American English, it's a particular affront to the son of an unmarried mother.

Dashing down to a Birmingham, Alabama newspaper website, Roy S. Johnson weighs in with his opinion on activist athletes -- men of color -- who came before Colin Kaepernick. They include: Bill Russell, Jim Brown, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tommie Smith and John Carlos.

We all know now that on Friday evening in Alabama, at a rally where he was to speak in support of U.S. Senate runoff candidate Strange, the President of the United States spit on them all.

He did so with the most vulgar of phrases--a phrase no President should evoke in public. Not under almost any circumstances.

But especially not to describe Americans exercising their Constitutional right to free speech and peaceful protest.

But Donald Trump, with his typical air of smug arrogance, did just that, calling any NFL player who dared kneel or sit or raise a fist during the playing of the national anthem to protest the preponderance of social injustice and racism in our era, a "son of a bitch."

ICYMI, here's the full context of Trumps' insipid banality:

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He's fired. He's fired!'? You know, some owner is going to do that. He's going to say, 'That guy that disrespects our flag, he's fired.' And that owner, they don't know it [but] they'll be the most popular person in this country."

What did he say?

Let that marinate for a moment. The man who is supposed to be the leader of our nation (Trump long ago lost any claim to being leader of the free world), the leader of all Americans, demeaned the mothers of American men simply doing what many Americans have done before: speak up for what they believe.

RESIST!!!!

Every day Trump totally degrades the presidency and then he expects no criticism for it. He expects to strip us of our Constitutional rights and get no criticism for it. Trump is a race baiter trying to divide America by the colors of our skin.

We see his plan in all its vulgarity. There's a high probability that Trump's Republican primary senate candidate Luther Strange will lose to Roy Moore in Tuesday's vote. Steve Bannon is backing Moore, who believes that God's law should rule America, not the US Constitution. So Trump arrived in Alabama, playing Bannon and Roy Moore's game. Bannon said recently that he loves it when Democrats play 'identity politics', so Trump -- with his souped-up brain stew of white nationalism -- decided to one-up Bannon, in hopes of salvaging his frail ego If Luther Strange loses the runoff.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll out Sunday confirms that 66% of Americans believe that Trump has done more to divide the country than unite it.

NO! NO! NO! Trump IS a bum, a bigot and a misogynist white nationalist. He is fomenting hatred from every word that comes out of his mouth. We have NO respect for this dangerous, white nationalist, totally incompetent asshat and the gloves are off. ~ Anne
