Hume's location in Cornwall is a far cry from her frequent days at the California-based nonprofit Weaving Earth. “I have deep concerns over a lot of the harmful practices in our world today, which led me to spend much of the past few years learning ways in which to live more harmoniously with the natural world,” says Hume. “Weaving Earth was an invaluable part of this journey. The focus of many of the practices I learned there is nature connection, and for me this is so important, not only because I feel most at peace in nature, but also because if we are truly connected to nature then perhaps we would better protect it.” Now a parent as well as an eco-advocate, Hume isn’t done modeling. In fact, this new phase of her career might be her best yet. “When I started out, I felt very lost at times,” she told Vogue US in November 2015.  “I was so young; I had not even really found myself yet. Now I know myself so well—I am more comfortable and confident than ever before.”
