Tartelette . . . Positively Scrumptious, Even When Innocent

Someone wrote to me recently “when I discover the right woman, I will know it immediately.”

NYT: Le Tour du ChocolatThis is how I feel about finding the right blog or website. For the last hours, I’ve scoured the Internet, inspired by today’s NYT article Le Tour du Chocolat. Initially I was lost in chocolat land, but somehow I ended up on Macarons or macaroons, whatever your pleasure.

Perhaps because I adore Macarons — their yummy textures, mouthwatering tastes and sensual physical appearances — and the colors, we must not forget the colors … well, it’s easy for me to take the wrong fork in the road, if Macarons are an option.

As I acknowledged recently in the Kitchen, I am a Tartelette at heart. The shoe fits and I will wear it.

After cruising through a good 15 blogs this morning, I found her … the Tartelette.

I do wish that so many bloggers wouldn’t begin a post with a health update and apologies for not writing the past few days. I come from the “never let them see you sweat” school. The Internet is virutally littered with women apologizng for every little thing. Not necessary.

Tartelette: Poached Quince And Red Fruit CakeUnless you’re Stephanie Nielson of the Nie Nie dialogues, I’m not certain that migraine news is relevant to anonymous readers… especially when you then whip out a total gorgeous, sexy, visual feast for readers, an offering that demonstrates a superb command of the kitchen.

I believe that I would enjoy eating Poached Quince and Red Fruit Cake. For sure, I can’t take my eyes off the photos. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Wow … the French ex-pat Helen, married and living in America, actually created this masterpiece with a migraine!

When it comes to the French and superb presentation, genius must be in their DNA.

The Tartelette’s blog is top-drawer beautiful, winner of a DMBLGIT Good Looking Blog Award. That sounds like fertile territory for my research.

Helen is a sensualist. Close your eyes and listen to the names of her recipes. Open your eyes, and you’re totally seduced.
