Prince Harry's Team Wins Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic

I’d like to say that I was there, but I wasn’t.

Prince Harry’s team won 6-5 this afternoon, at the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Clasic on Governors Island, with the Prince assisting in scoring the winning score in the final second. Chalk one up for Princess Diana, who Harry honored before the game.

Yes, times are tough all around, but it’s far worse in Africa, home to Harry’s charity Sentebale, supporting AIDS orphans in the African nation of Lesotho.

We can’t shut down all charity events. I say this because there was some criticism of playing polo in these challenging economic times. As the Obamas are showing us tonight, rolling into New York in a swarm of Republican criticism, we must continue to have some good times, too. And frankly, Broadway and New York generally can use a shot of adrenalin.

Come back soon, Prince Harry. Anne
