Israelis Divided on Building in East Jerusalem

Love | Peace The pollsters are busy in Israel, diagnosing the mood of the Israeli electorate regarding the Obama Administration. The Washington Post shows an overwhelming majority os Israelis think President Obama is fair and friendly toward Israel, despite the current feud.

The poll shows 36% favor Netanyahu is best suited to lead Israel, versus 26% for opposition leader Tzipi Livni. Another survey says Livni would overtake Natanyahu if elections were held today. Livni’s party won more votes than Netanyahu in the Fall 2009 elections.

The Washington Post says between 41 and 46% of Israelis would freeze construction in Jerusalem’s disputed eastern sector, and half object to the freeze. Here’s the Haareta analysis of their poll, quoted by WaPo.
