Human-Powered Flying Machine Sends Green Message to Earth

Inspired literally by the principles of biomimicry Todd Reichert accomplished a feat dreamed by men and women ever since Leonardo da Vinci sketched the first human-powered ornithopter in 1485.

With sustainability in mind, the flying dream team wanted to make a statement about human power walking and cycling as a form of human transportation. Not only was the ornithopter made of sustainable lightweight materials, Reichert lost 18 pounds for the flight. Read on at Science Daily
