Happy 40th Birthday Internet

GlobeTracker| The Telegraph UK reminds us that today is Arpanet’s birthday. Forty years ago a simple message “lo” was sent between two computers. Trying to communicate “login”, the system crashed, delivering only the first two letters.

Charley Kline and Bill Duvall – who made that first connection between the University of California and the Stanford Research Institute didn’t send the first email. That came in 1965, and is generally attributed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
