GlobeTracker| Cholera has broken out in Haiti. Haitian President Rene Preval said that 138 people have died and 1500 cases of the dreaded disease are confirmed. The current cases are in the Lower Artibonite and Central Plateau regions, north of Haiti’s capital.
Aid workers are desperate to keep the cholera from spreading into the overcrowded camps where 1.5 million homeless people are living in tents and tarpaulin camps. via New York Times
