51% of Fitness Readers Would Give Up A Year of Sex for Skinny

Body | Beauty | Culture 51 percent of about 2,400 Fitness magazine readers said they would go a full year without sex if they could be skinny, writes today’s Daily Mail.

The ‘Diet Confessions Survey’ also found that among Fitness readers, who presumably are more fit than the average population of American women:

-25 percent have a friend who has tried to sabotage their diet

-44 percent were dieting at the time of the survey

-65 percent were more impacted by their clothing size than the scale

-25 percent said they eat as much or more than their partner or significant other

-almost 40 percent said they first dieted in school

-22 percent struggle to stay on an exercise plan

-30 percent said they had tried, but wouldn’t repeat celebrity-endorsed diets like Gwyneth Paltrow’s juice cleanse diet or Jennifer Aniston’s baby food diet.

-20 percent of women surveyed said they exercise for over two hours a day

-25 percent said they removed photographs from Facebook because they thought they looked too fat

Are Confident Women Are Skinny If Sexless?

Perhaps Diet Pepsi executives shouldn’t be criticed then for introducing their new Skinny can during New York’s Fall 2010 Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week.

The new thin Diet Pepsi Skinny can is said to celebrate “beautiful, confident women.”

“Our slim, attractive new can is the perfect complement to today’s most stylish looks,” PepsiCo Chief Marketing Officer Jill Beraud said in a news release. “We’re excited to throw its coming-out party during the biggest celebration of innovative design in the world.”
