Conservative Republican David Brooks share solid advice to President Obama on what will be his last chance to take leadership on the issue of changing the American health care system. Inspite of his labels, Brooks always make a lot of sense to me. In addition, he doesn’t scream at people.
Besides his own arguments, Brooks directs us to David Goldhill’s essay “How American Health Care Killed My Father,” in The Atlantic. It’s a long article but full of valuable insights.
Brooks also directs us to the Brookings Institution Web site, to a report called “Bending the Curve: Effective Steps to Address Long-Term Health Care Spending Growth.” This report was written by a bipartisan group of battle-tested experts, including Mark McClellan, David Cutler, Elizabeth McGlynn, Joseph Antos and John Bertko.
