Obama Administration Most Active in History in Philanthropy Sector

The WSJ delivers a much-needed reminder that while urban areas and racial minorities do, in many cases, need more philanthropic support in America, the silent, suffering voice is rural America.

According to a new report from The Bridgespan Group, in 2006, only 6.8% of all giving from the top 1000 foundations went to rural America. Yet, rural American comprises 17% of the nation’s population and 28% of that population lives in poverty.
