IMF Predicts Strong 2010 Economic Recoveries in China and India

IMF looks at global economies for 2009 and 2010Emerging countries like China and India are recovering quickly from the global financial crisis.

According to the recent International Monetary Fund (IMF) World Economic Outlook, these countries will grow 1.5 per cent in 2009 and 4.7 per cent in 2010.

Based on the IMF estimations, China’s growth for 2009 will be 7.5 per cent and 8.5 per cent in 2010. The numbers for India are 5.4 per cent for 2009 and 6.5 per cent for 2010.

In advanced countries like US, Europe and Japan, global economic growth is minus 1.4 percent for 2009, and an estimated 2.5 percent positive for 2010.

In Africa, growth is estimated at 4.1 percent for 2010. Growth in 2009 is estimated at 1.8 percent positive this year. via Al Jazeera English.
