Vogue shares news of Chanel's latest ambassador, the uniquely self-possessed Willow Smith, who is the living embodiment of Coco Chanel's famous statement: "Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.

It’s an ethos embraced by Smith, whose innate confidence seems to extend well beyond her years. Who else, at age 9, could have catapulted themselves into the pop culture consciousness with that declaration of visual freedom, “Whip My Hair.” In the music video the preteen sports lip rhinestones, white mascara, a multicolored manicure, and waist-length braids that fulfill the promise of the song’s title. And that was just the beginning.
