Kidman turns 50 next month. To use a trite phrase, the Aussie superstar remains young at heart, approaching her career as if she were a young, unknown actress. 

“I am at that point of my life where I am trying to act as though I am 21 and starting my career,” Kidman said in Cannes. “In terms of pushing the boundaries, I want to support people who are trying different things. I have worked a lot. I don’t have to work. I work because it is still my passion.”

Nicole Kidman Is Lensed By Will Davidson In 'Lionheart' For Vogue Australia January 2017

Will Davidson captures the Lionheart fashion editorial, channeling Kidman's role in 'Lion', the story of a young man determined to trace his roots in rural India. The young man's journey, played by Dev Patel in the adult period of the film, is based on a true story of a small boy falling asleep on an empty train. He is alone and trapped as the train takes him hundreds of miles from his mother and brother to Kolkata. The five-year-old's final destination is Australia, as the adopted child of Kidman's character and her husband.

Dev Patel has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor for his role and Nicole Kidman as Best Supporting Actress for her. The film 'Lion' is nominated for Best Picture, Drama and Best Original Score.

UN Ambassador Nicole Kidman Visits Uluru Outback, Lensed By Will Davidson For Vogue Australia September 2015

Honolulu-born Nicole Kidman had a dual mission in her Vogue Australia photo shoot, posing for photographer Will Davidson at the iconomic Australian landmark Uluru, marking 30 years since the Australian Government returned Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to it original owners, the Anangu people. 

Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said she hoped that Nicole’s editorial would encourage tourists to visit the Northern Territory and national park. “People always ask me where they should go in Australia: now I’m going to say Uluru.” She added, “I’m enraptured by it. I’ve always been drawn to the landscape, and I do think there’s something … the energy and the light … it’s just a very, very magical, special place.”

Many Australians consider Uluru to be the spiritual heart of Australia.

Nicole Kidman is a long-time spokesperson for women’s rights, empowered in her role as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. Meeting with the women of the local Mutitjulu community, the actor said “The constant need is to keep educating.”

At 5’11’, Nicole stood tall over the local Mutitjulu women, dressed in black dresses and traditional body paint as they performed a special women’s ceremony for the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.
