Knightly revealed in October that she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at age 22 and considered giving up her acting career. Especially in our judgement-driven, social-media patrol world, stardom carries its own dark side. With this topic so front and center in our daily lives, AOC just took the time to search for the clinical definition of PTSD — which can seem a bit self-centered when injured vets are walking around with their limbs blown off. We share the famous Mayo Clinic’s medical definition of PTSD.
Knightley’s PTSD led to a breakdown and an inability to work for a year.
“I have a super-solid background and thank f*** for that. My family and my small but very close group of friends just wrapped me up. And I think, without that, it would have been a very different story.”
Knightley added: “I knew I always had somebody there to cuddle me who didn’t want anything from me. Ultimately I didn’t want them (the media and paparazzi) to win. The only thing I want to do is make films.”
The actor, who also speaks her changing life with husband James Righton and their daughter Edie, currently appears in new Disney film The Nutcracker And The Four Realms, and will next star in the period drama ‘Colette’, released in January 2019.

Tennant returned to her Scottish roots at age 30, giving up her life in New York under the tutelege of Isabella Blow, returning to live in Edrom House with French photographer husband David Lasnet.

After the success of 'Wonder Woman', can Charlie's Angels be far behind? And if 'Charlie's Angels' do arrive on the scene to kick some proverbial butt, will Lupita Nyong'o be in the posse? For now, Netflix has listened to Twitter users, sealing a deal at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival involving Rihanna and Lupita as a pair of genius scammers, screenwriter Issa Rae and director Ava Duvernay will have to hold us over. Rae’s team confirmed to Vanity Fair in May that "the project is in the works, adding that the original Twitter users who imagined the concept for this film will be credited and included in some form." The plot line works something like this: Rihanna scams rich white men and Lupita is her tech-savvy best friend who maps out the details of the digital heists.
