Kardashian-Jenner Women Launch Kardashian Kloset Resale on Friday, October 4

Kardashian-Jenners launch Kardashian Kloset resale platform.

Friday morning, 9am PST, doors will open to Kardashian Kloset, a new luxury resale venture initially populated with items belonging to Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner, writes Vogue Business. Handbags, shoes, sunglasses, costume jewelery and pre-loved clothing from Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner will follow in weekly drops.

In the US, resale is booming. The country’s total secondhand market, which includes resale, thrift and donations, is forecast to increase from $24 billion in 2018 to $51 billion in 2023. According to the 2019 Fashion Resale Report by Thredup, the US resale market has grown 21 times faster than traditional retail apparel in the last three years.

Vogue Business writes that while resale is a growing segment of sustainable consumption, in America it more often allows access to luxury items unaffordable at the original price. This dynamic is poised to change, however, as more women embrace resale as a core option of responsible consumption.

According to Marc Beckman, founding partner and CEO of advertising and representation agency DMA United, the resale market will also benefit from celebrity endorsements. “Influential celebrities can instantly eliminate the stigma attached to the secondary market,” he writes via email. “The Kardashian’s participation, if executed properly, will certainly accelerate acceptance and sales of previously owned and used merchandise.”

Kim Kardashian West Helps Free 17 Federal Prisoners in Last Three Months

Buzzfeed wrote on Tuesday that Kim Kardashian West has helped free 17 federal prisoners in the last three months.

Lawyers Brittany K. Barnett and MiAngel Cody confirmed Kardashian’s involvement in funding the 90 Days of Freedom Campaign, an entity born from President Trump’s signing of the First Step Act, designed to see sentence reductions for those serving life terms on drug offences.

“She’s using her platform to shine a light on this issue,” said Barnett, who is Kardashian West's personal lawyer and one of the co-creators of the Buried Alive Project. “She really helped us with the work we’ve already been doing, and she’s helping us amplify the voices of the people who are buried alive.”

“People get out of prison when powerful women link arms. Brittany and I linked arms years ago, and Kim has come and linked arms, too," Cody, Barnett’s co-counsel on the 90 Days of Freedom Campaign, said. “It’s about using what resources you have to shine a light on the underbelly of American injustice."

Eye: KKW Beauty Classic Red Crème Lipstick Is Perfect Color For Democratic Women Going Bold!

Superwoman Kim Kardashian is set to fire up followers worldwide with the launch of her first, straight-up red lipstick. Using her own incredible star power, Kardashian West has used her KKW Beauty Instagram pages to create the buildup to launching KKW Beauty’s Classic Red Crème Lipstick online and in a pop-up at South Coast Plaza on Friday Jan. 25. Images by Greg Swales.

There’s no doubt that the new shade — which is very Old Hollywood glam — creates a new wing of the previously neutrals, nudes, and pinks KKW Beauty assortment. Is KKW becoming as bold as America’s new women presidential candidates, and the newly-elected Democratic party lady posse that has arrived in Washington, DC?

I seem to recall that Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was just sworn in as the youngest woman ever to serve in Congress, used the public response to her red lipstick as a means of honoring a Supreme Court justice.

Kim Kardashian Hawks Dolce & Gabbana, Then Pulls Instagram Story As Confused Followers Express Dismay

Talent mogul Kim Kardashian had the equivalent of a senior moment, rushing to produce an Instagram Story praising Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana’s big box of goodies sent her by the controversial luxury brand. In the short clip, the KKW Beauty mogul pans across several sequinned tuxedo jackets while narrating, “So I come home to these amazing, huge Dolce & Gabbana boxes”.

By now Kardashian knows that her every move is under the microscope, leaving people confused that days after announcing that she and husband Kanye West are expecting a fourth child via IVF, she would use her reputation to advance a brand that advocated against IVF, saying “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one…. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Kardashian pulled her Insta Story within hours, but one wonders exactly what she was thinking. AOC doesn’t disparage Kim Kardashian in any way. We’re not KK haters but admirers of her frankly prodigious business talents and ability to live in the limelight 24/7. But surely Kardashian knows that the Dolce & Gabbana brand is newly-toxic, yet again over its controversial antics and subsequent cancellation of their late fall 2018 Shanghai show.

In reality, the Dolce & Gabbana brand is aligned far closer to the Trumplandia values embraced by her husband Kanye West than her own more progressive ones. One wonders if Kanye told the DG boys to send over the loot, so Kim could hawk it. How much $$$ was it worth to all parties involved.

Kim Kardashian West Embraces Modesty, Lensed By Jackie Nickerson For CR Fashion Book #13

Kim Kardashian West Embraces Modesty, Lensed By Jackie Nickerson For CR Fashion Book #13

Kim Kardashian West delivers a version of herself that we've never seen. Not only covered up, but a prairie-loving star in a John Wayne movie, Kim Kardashian takes center stage as a pioneer woman under the influence of Marie Antoinette. Carine Roitfeld styles KKW in Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, Balenciaga, Coach 1941, Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, Max Mara and more for images by Jackie Nickerson in CR Fashion Book #13. The entrepreneurial mogul explains why this fashion shoot was her easiest:

When I do a shoot, I love to see the photographer’s version of me. I’m not this diva who shows up on set and has all these demands of specific angles and glam and how I want to look. I like doing things that aren’t me or aren’t the way that people typically see me, and I love to see that version too. This was my easiest shoot because I didn’t have to suck it in. I was just myself and it was more about attitude instead of showing off my body, which was different and refreshing. I think people don’t really see me as dressing so modest. What’s funny is that, though I obviously am very comfortable not being modest, my soul inside is kind of modest. My closest friends know that about me.

Painter Pierce Brosnan Plans 2019 Paris Exhibit, Inspired By $1.4 million amfAR Dylan Sale

Painter Pierce Brosnan Plans 2019 Paris Exhibit, Inspired By $1.4 million amfAR Dylan Sale

Actor Pierce Brosnan says that he was 'gobsmacked' watching his original painting of Bob Dylan generate $1.4 million at the amfAR’s 25th annual Cinema Against AIDS event in Cannes. The painting purchased by Ukranian billionaire Marina Acton who is married to WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton.

Now Brosnan and wife Keely Shaye Smith are planning an exhibition of 20-30 of his paintings in Paris. “We love the city,” Brosnan tells 'THR'. “It’s the epicenter of the art world and has been for many years.” Smith agrees that “Paris is always a good idea,” with her devoted and adoring husband finishing her sentence. “It’s a bold one. It definitely takes some courage to do it, but I reckon if I can go out and sing in Mamma Mia!, I can go show a few paintings, have a few cocktails and give it a shot.”

Acton dreams of a singing career and sources report that: "In what seems like a genius business move on Kim’s part, sources close to the real estate deal tell us Acton has dreams of becoming a singer and is a big fan of Kim. When they bought Kimye’s home, we’re told they paid WAY over what the property was worth because of the Kardashian connection."

Apparently, the Actons never moved into the mansion and are now trying to flip it for the buy price. Kim Kardashian may have committed, as part of the real estate deal, to promote her new friend Marina now and in the future.

Kylie Talks Business & Babies With Kim, Lensed By Nagai Sakai For ES Magazine

Not many young women can be 'insecure' about their lips and start a cosmetics brand to fix the problem. The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' women are problem-solvers, making action into their own hands and not waiting for some Prince Charming to come along with a magic wand to make Kylie Jenner, 20, suddenly confident about her lips. With no scientific data, lip abundance is associated with fertility; and we all know that the Kardashian women are not only destiny-driven business moguls but direct descendants of the Venus of Willendorf.

Kylie Jenner talks her personal truth in an interview with sister Kim Kardashian West for ES Magazine's Beauty edition. Kylie is captured by Nagi Sakai, with styling by Anna Trevelyan. / Hair by Andrew Fitz Simons; makeup by Ariel

“It came from an insecurity and I turned it into something. I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident,” Jenner explained to her beauty mogul sister.

“It’s the most authentic thing I’ve done in my career, and it really relates to me, and I feel like people can tell that I’m super passionate about it,” Jenner said about her business endeavor. “I feel like people could see that it’s authentic to me, and it was organic, and it just worked!”

People love to mock the Kardashian women, but Forbes estimated Kylie's net worth at $41m in December 2017, while WWD estimated her 2017 lip-love and more sales from Kylie Cosmetics at $330m.

Earlier this year, Kylie gave birth to her first child, Stormi, with long-term boyfriend and rapper, Travis Scott. The rest of Kylie's interview with sister Kim is about the Kardashian women and their babies.

Kim Kardashian West At Home With Boo George In ELLE US April 2018 Cover Interview

Kim Kardashian West At Home With Boo George In ELLE US April 2018 Cover Interview

The knives are already out again for Kim Kardashian, with her Elle US April US cover story.  Forget Kim's jaw-dropping, photographer Boo George cover image that leaves any fashionista worth her reputation in awe. Come on, now!!!  Either give the woman a nod for one great photo above, or send me your resume, so we can review your own credentials for ALWAYS shredding any image of Kim Kardashian, styled here by Anna Trevelyan.

I'm not even a Kardashian fan, although I do admire her talent, focus, self-discipline, business, family and body results. But reading the ruthless shredding of every action Kardashian takes is getting me downright empathetic towards the woman.

Embroiled in controversy around The Women's March this week -- triggered by Tamika Mallory's strong embrace of Rev. Louis Farrakhan -- (this article seems fair and balanced) I've been doing more reading than usual, noting that Kim Khardashian is considered to be a 'Beckeisha'. Writing for The Root, Michael Harriot breaks down The 5 Types of 'Becky': a white woman who uses her privilege as a weapon, a ladder or an excuse. Ex: “A random Becky hit me up on Twitter to explain why not all white women are racist.”

Beckeisha

Part of the privilege of Beckydom rests in its members’ unflagging belief that everything belongs to them. For this subset of Beckys, culture, history and black penis are all disposable commodities for them to use and discard at their whim. In their belief system, you can’t be offended when they appropriate a culture or call something “ghetto,” because they don’t have a racist bone in their body. Plus, they once had a black boner inside their body, so how can they be racist?

Beckeishas slip on the temporary camouflage of black culture like a loose-fitting, swap-meet dashiki. They don’t consider themselves thieves; they are more like culture vultures—digesting dead black things until their bellies are filled, and then vomiting up the unwanted oppression and pain as they spread their wings and fly away. But you know what they say: Once you go black, you’ll never go back ...

... unless you’re a Beckeisha. Because they always go back. Because they can.

Identifying call: “I dated a black guy in college.”

Famous Beckeishas: Anyone with the last name “Kardashian”; Miley Cyrus; Rachel Dolezal; white girls who twerk.

Read the ELLE interview by Molly Young, one considerably more respectful toward KK than The Root. What's that movie -- 'What A Wonderful World?' We're livin' it! ~ Anne

Of course the cultural appropriation police -- the 'screaming banshees' -- (no offense intended to Celtic Faerie women warning of impending death) were out, tweeting a rerun of the backlash against Kim's sister Kendall Jenner's 2017 Vogue India cover and editorial.

Writing yesterday about Kendall sitting out the fall 2018 runway shows, the Vogue India cover controversy came to mind, where the editor-in-chief put these social media screaming banshees in their place, writing

"In the last 10 years, Vogue India has had only 12 international covers, including Kendall Jenner, in 2017. Therefore, statistically, 90 percent of our covers are Indian! And we are proud of that." What's more, the brand adds, "India has given the world so many beautiful faces to admire. After all, we are Vogue, an international brand, and we want to give the love back by featuring some of the best international celebrities on our covers. Occasionally! :)"

Kim Kardashian West Talks 10 Years Of KUWTK, Eyed By Dennis Leupold For T Magazine Singapore October 2017

Kim Kardashian West has sworn off luxurious excess after her Paris robbery. Stylist Tok Wei Lun tries to change Kim's mind, tempting us with an extravagant collection of a red Givenchy fur coat with a Cartier necklace and rings, complemented by dramatic looks from Max Mara, Off-White, Rick Owens and more.  The supermama's October 2017 cover story for T Magazine Singapore is lensed by Dennis Leupold, with creative direction by Jack Wang  & Jumius Wong.

Joie Goh interviews Kim, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. The critics were scathing, writes Goh, denouncing the show for "its shallowness and calling its troupe 'self-absorbed' and 'desperate'.

Maybe so, but unlike her critics, Kim Kardashian West is today the highest-earning reality TV personality in the world.   Read on

Kardashian is a bit late for her simply-brilliant Allure interview with GQ writer Devin Friedman. When I say 'brilliant', the word applies to both humans. In fact, Friedman's writing sparkles -- not with the common broad-stroke, high-and-mighty intellectual condemnation of Kardashian's character on behalf of millions of Twitter minions -- but with verve and personal insights.

I can't remember when I last read such an insightful, entertaining and clever interview -- one definitely dependent on the creative and psychoanalytical talents of the writer.
