France's First Lady Brigitte Macron joined her husband President Emanuel Macron in welcoming the French soccer team to the Elysée Palace today. Macron turned to her frequent designer Louis Vuitton to celebrate France's World Cup win in a chic LBD -- in bleu, of course. Vogue writes:

Macron’s minimal dress was in line with her previous pieces designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. The cap sleeves were an elegant alternative to going sleeveless for summer, and balanced the above-the-knee length. A topstitched center-front seam created an elongating effect, as did her pale, neutral-toned pumps. But the best part of Macron’s look? Twinning with the victors in navy blue.

Director, activist and busy mother Angelina Jolie was in Paris today to film a commercial on the Champs-Elysées for perfume house Guerlain. Jolie has been an ambassador for the brand since 2016. After a trip to the Louvre museum with her six children, Jolie also met with French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at a visit to the presidential  Elysées Palace. 

Jolie and Mrs. Macron met for an hour, discussing education, violence against women and [Jolie]’s activities as UNHCR Special Envoy and her recent visit to Jordan. On Sunday, Angelina took Zahara and Shiloh to the Zataari refugee camp, located less than an hour's drive from the Syrian border and a temporary home to 78.000 people fleeing Syrian violence.

Once again, Brigitte Macron is forced to talk about the 25-year age difference between her and her husband -- a topic the media is obsessed with. The subject is starting to feel like Hillary Clinton's missing emails.

Reports are that Macron's September cover issue is the best selling French Elle issue in the last 10 years. In the first week, the magazine already sold 3 million copies, including subscriptions. The monthly average for Elle France in 2017 was 313 525 copies.

Macron wears a cream-colored Dior blazer on her cover shot and faded Saint Laurent jeans. As always, her signature point-toe stilettos are part of her typically casual, never overdone look. 

When asked if she prefers not to be asked about her style, Mrs. Macron quips, "Why not, if it does some good for the French fashion industry? I'm really into fashion, and there's this fascination the world over around this idea of the French woman."

France's First Lady Brigitte Macron and French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Irish superstarBono to the Elysee Palace on Monday, where they had an hour-long meeting on key topics in solving global poverty. Bono, appearing with Brigitte Macron, said that a strong focus of the dialogue was educating girls and women in Africa. 

Bono met with the Macrons in his capacity as founder of the NGO ONE, dedicated to fighting extreme poverty. Bono said that the French president, who has seen a 10 pt pt. drop in ratings since he assumed office, will boost its aid budget to 0.55 percent of gross domestic product by 2022.
