Obama Tells World Leaders: "Real Change Is Possible"

President Barack Obama telling world leaders that “Real Change Is Possible” , Sept. 23, 2009In his first UN address, President Barack Obama’s speech was greeted warmly by world leaders.
The president outlined “four pillars” that he called “fundamental to the future that we want for our children:
• nuclear disarmament
• Middle East peace
• environmental restoration
• economic growth
The day after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas, President obama called for an end to the occupation of Palestinian lands that began in 1967 but also called for an acceptance of “a Jewish state of Israel, with security for all Israelis.”
President Obama also issued a warning to fellow world leaders, saying “Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world’s problems alone.”
